Wigleaf Top 50

The Wigleaf Top 50 is one of the highlights of the flash fiction year, a round-up of the best flash of the previous year. It’s a real coup to bag a Wigleaf spot, and we were happy as Larry to see two of our writers making the top 50.

Cathy Ulrich When the Children Return
Elaine Chiew A Compendium of Chinese Ghosts, Part I and II

To make the day even better, we also saw four stories in the longlist

Anna Lea Jancewicz The Rabbits of the Underworld Find Innovation Distasteful
Anne Elizabeth Weisgerber F. Scott, Remember Me
J. Bradley Brick by Brick
Subashini Navaratnam Experimental Woman

Special “Intergalactic Planetary” Call for Submissions

This month we also launched another special call for submissions. Given it’s science-y-fiction-y tone, we had planned to announce the call on Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you), but in the Wigleaf excitement we forgot! We’ve already started receiving some cracking submissions for this special issue, and are getting pretty excited. For more details.

Editor’s Letter

With a lot of news this month, I’m going to keep the editor’s letter short. Thank you to all the writers, for helping us put out a knockout twelve stories. Enjoy them as much as we did.
